Eco Vessel Ultra Lite Tritan Filtration Water Bottle - Disaster Preparedness Item Review

Eco Vessel - Water BottlesWater.  Simply the most important substance on Earth that we need for our survival.  We can live for days and even weeks without food.  Without water?  You are lucky past 72 hours without.  So, as we face more and more tumultuous times I believe it is important, no, imperative that we prepare the for the worst...only hope for the best.

I believe it is time to focus on disaster preparation.  Many people say it's fool-hearty and laud those "Doomsday Preppers" as fanatical lunatics.  I say it is prudent to begin your disaster preparedness.

While preparing for any potential disaster a focus should be placed on a 72 hour supply cache with enough food or water to get you through 3 days.  My question is, what happens after 72 hours?  What if you have to leave home and don't have enough supplies?  What if there is a disaster and you are away from home and need to make it home, and what if home is 30 miles away on foot?  What happens when you run...out...of...water?

The Eco Vessel is the perfect addition to your disaster preparedness kit, whether it is in your 72 hour kit, Get-Home-Bag, or Bug-Out-Bag.  No pumping required to use this bottle.  It is as simple as filling your water bottle from a water source (creek, river, or even a possibly contaminated faucet) and sucking through a straw.

"What?" You ask, unboiled water from a possible contaminated source?

I reply, "YES."

The fact is The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports that 90 percent of the world’s water is contaminated in some way.  Typically, in the wilderness they suggest boiling water for 1 minute.  If using iodine, add 5 drops of 2 percent iodine to every quart of water, or add 10 if the water is cloudy.  It must stand for at least 30 minutes.  Well if you are not carrying around a fire source and pot, or iodine tablets...there is a much easier way!

Do you understand why you need to purify water from a wilderness source such as a creek or river?  There are two nasty little protozoa, Cryptosporidium and Giardia that if ingested will make you miserably sick.  Don't like horrid diarrhea and diarrhea leading to dangerous dehydration, by all means, skip the filtration.

However, if you don't want to make yourself deathly ill when trying to survive, then the Aqua Vessel Ultra Lite Tritan™ water filtration bottle would come in very, very handy.

Benefits of the Filter
It is tested to remove 99.9% of Giardia and Cryptosporidium, and its activated coconut shell carbon reduces toxic chemicals, heavy metals, microscopic pathogens, chlorine, sediment and dirt - so it's safe to use everywhere from the back country to the office. The MiraGuard antimicrobial technology even keeps the filter clean and free of mold, so you can be sure that whether you're using tap water or river water, you're drinking the freshest water around.

Another cool kicker...Made in the USA.

Benefits of the Bottle
  • Lightweight Tritan™ plastic material
  • Slim design makes the bottle easy to hold while you run or workout
  • Straw top for easy drinking (not safe for children under 4 years old)
  • Made from 100% Recyclable materials
  • BPA free
  • Bottle dimensions: 3" wide, 10" tall
  • 100 gallon filter included
In my opinion, if you have a disaster preparedness kit, then this bottle is a MUST have.  Plus, it comes with extra straws, which is great if you want to use the bottle without the filtration if you are filling up from a purified water source.  The Eco Vessel is an AMAZING bottle, especially for only $25.95!  I have already added this bottle to my own kit, and plan on getting a few more!  Need to know where to order from?  Scroll back up and look no further!

Enjoy and drink safe!

  1. Hello, Purchased this for a trip to the Middle East -- easy to fill, easy to carry. First two fills I had to suck quite hard on the straw, but after that much easier. I didn't worry about water quality in restaurants or hotel rooms in Jordan b/c I knew I was filtering the water. I didn't test the water, so have no idea what I may or may not have saved myself from, but I stayed hydrated and well. What more can you ask for? thanks~ Daisy

  2. No doubt on the fact that water is a most essential element of our life, but with the continuous increase of urbanization it’s really hard to get a pure glass of water to drink and it even harder when we go for an outing or an adventure trip, but because of these kind of products one can remain assure about the quality of water.

  3. Everyone should take disaster preparedness serious. You never know when you will encounter a survival situation, especially if you are an outdoor fanatic. What’s the name of that resourceful filter? I am currently using LifeStraw. See more: http://survival-mastery.com/skills/water-purifying/best-survival-straw-filter.html
